And now for something completely different
I found this on littleyellowdifferent. It's a list of bands which promote "the gay," and therefore should be avoided. There's nothing I can say that will make this site any better than it is. Just go look.
Better police your son's music or he'll start wearing a loincloth and styling his friends' hair.
I grew up with this kind of fundie craziness and luckily came to my senses once I moved out of my parents' house. I'm pretty confused about how they came to some of those conclusions: Metallica? Nickleback? Frank Sinatra?
The bottom of the page says "Hopefully soon we'll have it so you can add them by yourself." One can only hope so :) I'd have fun aplenty with that for a few minutes...
The Indigo Girls are awesome and deserve their two entries. They'd probably love it.
Can someone tell me how Ghostface Killah is gay? I mean, I guess I haven't really listened to him a lot, but he just doesn't really strike me as gay you know?
Also, isn't Clay Aiken that good Christian American Idol boy?
The Red Hot Chili Peppers??? I wonder if people are e-mailing him and giving him band names as a joke. This is the only way I can account for DMX or Dogstar. Who listens to Dogstar gay or otherwise?
I've now spent way too much time trying to figure out if this guy is for real or if it's all just a hoax (plenty of information is out there if you feel like wasting the same time I just did. But don't do it.) I've come to the feeling that it's all a hoax, but there doesn't seem to be any concrete evidence. I guess it doesn't matter whether it's real or not, because there are plenty of real people like this out there (Jerry Falwell and his crusade against Tinky Winky comes to mind).
hm, you know gradually I started to wonder whether this is a hoax or not. Probably a tip off might be that they misspelled Eminem. If you're serious, you'd definitely be able to get his name right. Also, there's not really a whole lot other than that part on the website. The Gay Bands page is really the center piece.
But then again, this could be like that time my friend's immigrant dad watched a faith healing on TV and was convinced it was, in fact, a comedy.
It has to be a joke because Toby Keith hates gay people. I know because I grew up listening to him before he got all "I hate the Muslims" loud and obnoxious, and my father still listens to him.
Also, the only thing I could think while reading this is: I have the gayest music collection EVAR.

Ewww. Squirmy.
They've got the Indigo Girls twice, heh.
I've even heard of most of those bands, though! Guess I'd better go buy more music just to be sure...
I love this part: Ted Nugent (loincloth)

That's priceless :)
My clue that it was a joke was the opening quote from "Oscar Wilde (reformed homosexual)." Pure gold.
