Dear god

I don't believe in you so it seems a bit silly to ask this question, but, why did you make mosquitos? If so, why did you make them small enough to enter people's rooms at will. And why for the love of god (no pun intended) do they bite my left eyelid when I sleep so that when I wake up one eye is smaller than the other? And why is it always my left eyelid? It's happened three times already. Quit it.

Get. A. Mosquito. Net.

Please.

(I don't think it would be a good idea to slather yourself with DEET or whatever that effective but horrible stuff is. Is there a secret folk remedy that works?)

want me to send you some of those candles?

God made them so the frogs would have something to eat (and prob some other gobbeldy guck about ecosystems that went over my head during highschool bio). Take up the sugg on the candle. Or otherwise, sleep under your blanket to reduce exposed areas. Happy New Year's dear! -div

The blanket idea reminds me I used to sleep under the sheet when I lived in Hawaii and could hear those dive-bombing pests whining away on the other side. At first you'll probably toss it off, but after a while you might train yourself to stay under. (Once I found a cockroach right in front of my face when I peeked out in the morning. Gack.) And why not try the candles too?

I had this awesome mini tent thing specifically designed to go on top of a bed and keep out bugs when I was a kid (we got it for when we went to Costa Rica) that I would set up on my bed at home on really bad nights. It really worked. Maybe something like that?

One of my favorite things about living on the mainland is that I only have to deal with mosquitos on an occasional basis, rather than having them as a constant part of my life.

When Amber came with me to visit my dad she cursed white people loudly for having introduced mosquitoes to Hawaii.

I'm allergic to mosi bites - mosquito nets are cheap at IKEA.
